OLD BUSINESS
a. Theme: Teresa Kaczmarek / Krista Hallead. Krista reported that the kids voted and “Barnyard Bash” has been selected as this year’s carnival theme.
b. Mini-Raffle: Keri Bendele / Bridgette Voisinet. Bridgette explained that this is part of the carnival really needs two volunteers. One to solicit donations and one to catalog the prizes as they are received. Keri is very busy soliciting donations. She has acquired several significant donations and she is monitoring the quality of the donations received. Dawn Lawless volunteered to take on that job of cataloging the prizes for the carnival. Sheryl Middleton will print the posters listing the donations. Teresa Kaczmarek will add some of the significant donations to the carnival posters. Keri needs 30 flyers from Teresa Kaczmarek by October 1. Keri stated that she could use 2 more individuals to assist with soliciting donations. An idea was discussed to sell mini-raffle tickets after church just prior to the carnival.
c. Games: Lisa Suidgeest. Lisa reported on the planned addition/deletion of games from the carnival. Lisa reported on several planned modifications to support the “Barnyard Bash” theme. Lisa also discussed the coordination of any new games with Krista to establish ticket pricing and prizes.
d. Photo Booth: Bridgette Voisinet. Bridgette reported that Ortman Photography has volunteered his time for a photo booth at the carnival. Angi Bunn volunteered to coordinate the set-up of the booth at the carnival. Some ideas for coordinating the photo booth around the “Barnyard Bash” theme were discussed.
e. Public Relations: Teresa Kaczmarek. Teresa reported that the flyers will be ready by October 1.
NEW BUSINESS
Sheryl Middleton was drawn as the Kindergarten representative. All remaining individuals who indicated a willingness to serve on the Council were seated as Members-At-Large. Mary Jo Eiseler, Christy Kosnik, Dawn Lawless, Krista Lehner and Cheryl Nodarse filled five of the six available Member-At-Large positions denoted in the Council By-Laws. It was determined that the remaining seat would remain open until such time someone was identified to fill it. All were encouraged to help identify someone who might make a positive contribution by their willingness to serve.
There was a reminder to all grade representatives that a letter needs to be sent home with the students from each grade representative introducing themselves and their role. It was clarified that a template letter is available, but if modified would need to be approved by Tomi Ann Schultheiss prior to being distributed.
