Children’s Liturgy of the WordCLOW12-11

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is an important part of our Sunday liturgy during the 10:00am Mass from October – May. After the Opening Prayer, children ages 4 years to 2nd grade are invited to go with an adult leader to hear the readings and talk about what the Gospel might mean in their lives. The eager and often insightful responses of the children make it easy to see why Jesus said “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Luke 18:16.
After a short discussion about the Gospel reading, the children will once again join the main assembly of the church and continue Mass with the Liturgy of the Eucharist. No registration is necessary to have your children be part of Children’s Liturgy of the Word. When attending Mass, simply have them come to the front of the altar when Father Mike invites them. Parents are welcome to accompany their children initially if it makes them feel more comfortable.
